Visit of our shipyard and our new Imoca OceansLab Innovation by Christelle Morançais, president of our Region.

12/09/2023 : Black Pepper Yachts had the pleasure of hosting a visit from the President of our region, Christelle Morançais. She was joined by Sam Manuard – the designer, Phil Sharp – the skipper, and Christophe Pinault – Caisse d’Epargne. They visit the Imoca OceansLab Innovations and learned about his new hydrogen technology.

This first world first fully-integrated hydrogen race yacht. It will be the first to sail without fossil fuels on board. This is made possible through the use of an innovative hydrogen-electric system integrating a hydrogen fuel cell, green hydrogen, solar PV, hydrogenerators and lithium-ion batteries.

This innovative project accelerates cleantech in the ocean going environment by demonstrating the performance and sustainability advantages of renewable energy.
